Rule 6
Management plan formulation and approval

(1) The council will formulate a five-year management plan for the protection and management of the conservation area in coordination with the relevant consumer groups and committees. (2) While formulating the management plan according to sub-rule (1), the council shall convene a meeting of the consumer group and the chairperson of the committee to discuss the management plan and collect opinions and suggestions and based on the opinions and suggestions collected in that way, the management plan shall be formulated.
(3) According to sub-rules (1) and (2), if technical services are required while formulating the management plan, the council may take the services of technicians of the related subjects.
(4) The management plan formulated in accordance with sub-rules (1) and (2) shall be passed by the council meeting and submitted to the department for approval by the chairman.
(5) The management plan submitted to the department according to sub-rule (4) shall be studied by the committee consisting of the following officials and if found necessary to be modified, shall be modified and submitted to the department for approval with recommendations:-
(a) Deputy Director General, National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Department - Coordinator
(b) Authorized Representative, Environment Division, Ministry of Forests and Land Conservation – Member
(c) Authorized Representative, Planning and Population Division, Ministry of Forests and Land Conservation – Member
(d) Chairman of the organization responsible for managing the conservation area - member
(e) Management Officer, National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Department – ​​Member-Secretary
(6) The committee according to sub-rule (5) may form a technical sub-committee for consulting technical opinions on management plans and other related matters and if such a sub-committee is not formed, it may invite relevant experts to the meeting.
(7) The management plan submitted in accordance with sub-rule (4) shall be studied and approved by the department in the same form or if found necessary to modify or revise it.
(8) It shall be the duty of the council and all concerned to comply with the approved management plan as per sub-rule (7).
